When is the best time for buying tires?

Do I Always Need to Replace All Four Tires at Once

There are many reasons to buy tires. You may discover a recurring slow leak on a single tire, get a damage that shouldn't be patched, or maybe the tires are just plain old. You should inspect your auto tires at least once a month to see how they are wearing--this will tell you a lot about the state of the tires and give you some advance notice on when they might need replacing. When doing the inspections, it's important to know how to spot the signs of an aging tire. Look for wear indicators in the groove of your tires--if you can see narrow bands in the grooves, your tires need to be replaced. You can also take a penny and insert it into the groove of your tire. Place the penny in the groove upside down. If you can still see honest Abe's head, your tire treads are worn out, and it's time to buy new tires.

Not all tires need to be replaced at the same time. When buying just one new tire, pair it on the rear axle with the auto tire that it most closely matches in speed rating and style for proper alignment.
